Influencing
QNIS works to influence legislation, policymaking, and political debates that affect community nursing and midwifery in Scotland.
We work with politicians, civil servants, and other stakeholders to ensure a community nursing and midwifery perspective is incorporated into policymaking at the heart of government.
QNIS Chief Executive and Nurse Director, Sarah Doyle was co-signatory to an open letter, published on 10 June 2025 in The Scotsman, from a diverse group of committed senior figures in health, who share a belief that the health of our people is central to the success of our nation, and that we need to re-imagine how health is created in Scotland.
The letter includes calls for cross-party and cross-sectoral working, a commitment to work together and a shared mission to improve the health of Scotland.
