Queen’s Nurses pre-1969
We offer a range of support to retired Queen’s Nurses who qualified before 1969. We help retired Queen’s Nurses to stay connected, both to QNIS and to each other. We send a regular newsletter, arrange an Annual Gathering with lunch, and offer a subsidised annual group holiday. We also have a network of volunteer visitors who support our retired Queen’s Nurse community.
Visitors
A network of volunteer visitors, generally retired or contemporary Queen’s Nurses themselves, are available to visit or phone retired Queen’s Nurses. These visitors provide friendship, and help to keep retired Queen’s Nurses connected to the Institute. We send out regular newsletters to our retired Queen’s Nurses to help them stay connected.
Annual Gathering and holiday
This is an opportunity for retired Queen's Nurses from across Scotland to come together, meet old friends and share news, as well as hear about what the Institute is doing - including an excellent lunch!
Retired Queen’s Nurses receive booking forms in a mailing towards the end of the year. If you’d like to enquire about joining future gatherings, get in touch. Our Annual Gathering for 2025 in Pitlochry was a great success.
We also arrange a group holiday for retired Queen’s Nurses every year. This is a relaxing opportunity for our retired community to come together and enjoy spending time with others. The holiday is up to four nights with dinner, bed and breakfast timed to coincide with the Annual Gathering, offering an extended period of fellowship with other retired Queen’s Nurses.
