We are delighted that QNIS is one of six charities that have been awarded funding from the Burdett Trust for Nursing, marking a significant investment in the charity’s work. The award will enable us to deliver more of our Queen’s Nurse Leadership courses and our relational care workshops. This new funding will also enable us to create a new development opportunity focused on advanced relational leadership.

QNIS Chief Executive and Nurse Director, Dr Sarah Doyle, said: “We are passionate about community nursing and midwifery and about the vital role of these professions in delivering health and social care in Scotland. As a charity, we provide high-quality professional development opportunities for Scotland’s community nurses and midwives, encouraging them to tackle health and care inequalities in collaboration with the people they care for. This Burdett Trust for Nursing partnership grant is a tremendous opportunity for us to significantly increase our impact.”

Bringing together a small group of established partners with a strong track record of working with the Burdett Trust for Nursing, the programme provides three-year funding alongside opportunities for shared learning and collaboration. The charities involved are Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland, Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing, Foundation of Nursing Studies, Florence Nightingale Foundation, Institute of Health Visiting, and Collaborating for Health (C3).

Together, the partnership will focus on:

  • Supporting nursing-led, person-centred models of care

  • Strengthening leadership and influence in policy and decision-making

  • Advancing health advocacy, equity and integrated care.

Keep an eye on our website, newsletter, and social media channels for more details on forthcoming development opportunities as this partnership progresses.
